Dr. Amal A. M. Elgharbawy

Assistant Professor

Dr Amal is an Assistant Professor at International Institute for Halal Research and Training (INHART), IIUM. Her background is in biochemistry and biotechnology engineering, with more than eight years’ experience in research (enzymatic field, their production, assays, kinetics, and stability in several solvents, ionic liquids, DESs, and bioethanol production). Dr Amal has as well engaged in waste management through the production of value-added products from waste, such as complex carbohydrates, enzymes, and bio-active compounds. She has been involved in several side projects including DNA extraction and analysis and cell culture.
